As I mentioned in an earlier post, I will be publishing the tarot card which I selected for my day, the interpretations, and a summary all in one post today instead of the usual two. I will try to resume my regular posting schedule tomorrow.
Daily Tarot Deck: Nigel Jackson Tarot
Daily Tarot Card: The Tower (XVI)
My personal interpretation:
I was actually quite surprised to draw this card today because it’s such a significant card. I also need to mention that I get a little nervous each time this card comes up for me in a reading. I know there is truly nothing to fear in this card, but we as humans have a natural fear of change, and this card indicated major changes – and they may not be all that pleasant initially. Necessary, yes, pleasant, not generally.
Nigel Jackson’s illustration of the tower card varies from some of the standard Waite Rider cards in that the tower is actually still standing and only the very top of the tower seems to be receiving the brunt of the damage and there aren’t people jumping from the windows higher up to escape the trauma. This tells me that yes, there will be some upheaval, yes, it will be somewhat *scary*, but it will not be unbearable.
The absence of people period also signify that today could be quite a lonely day for me. This period of change would also need to be one which I journeyed through on my own. The bright side is, once I come through this, it will be for the positive.
The book’s interpretation:
A “bolt from the blue”; sudden catastrophic event levelling false pride and self-delusion, bringing illumination; unforeseen calamity; shattering of egocentricity to enable renewal and liberation.
Looking Back on Nigel Jackson: The Tower
Today was not very eventful. To be honest, it was mostly a day of reflection. I slept in later than I normally do and I actually felt quite tired (I think the previous week caught up to me). I felt lethargic and not quite able to do much of anything and I realized it was time for a change.
I needed to revamp my attitude and rework my schedule to help avoid future burn out such as I felt today. And true to form, today was a lonely day for me as I didn’t speak with any clients, family, or friends. It was certainly a psychological “Tower” that came crashing down, but on the bright side, I have a renewed vision of my life direction, goals, and road map for getting there. Something I never really took the time to look over this year – I simply jumped in head first. I was forced to look at some of my old relationships that were no longer working for me and make the decision to make room for new and healthy relationships, clients, and business. Difficult as it was, it was certainly for the best.
I am very glad and relieved that the change wasn’t much worse (as it could have been).

January 8, 2005 in Daily Tarot, Daily Tarot Updates, Nigel Jackson Tarot
As I mentioned in my previous post, I was very cramped for time yesterday and didn’t get to bed until the wee hours of the morning, so I’m updating Friday’s card this evening. I’ll also update and review today’s card in the next post.
Friday was definitely an eventful day if nothing else, and I’m glad to be doing an update to Robin Wood Tarot: The Sun.
My initial interpretation:
I see happiness and opportunity in this card….Just looking at this card makes me smile. I am definitely in for a treat today. I will learn to have fun again it seems and in the purest sense.
From the moment I woke up, I was greeted by things to do. My initial reaction to the day was met with opposition and I thought somehow that my card had been wrong or something. I’ve learned a while ago that your daily tarot card is rarely wrong and if you pay close attention, you’ll understand why that particular card found its way to you on a particular day.
As I continued through my day, I was indeed greeted by happiness. I received a check!
Nothing that I was really expecting that day, but sure was a pleasure to receive. I also received some inspiration from my newest client and was told that some of my ideas (which I shared with very few people) was truly something wonderful.
I spoke with my dad for a while which was a real treat and he asked me to come visit him – so I get to take a brief vacation on Sunday to simply hang out in the country with my family. What news could possibly be better than that? At least to me, nothing.
So I was able to continue through my day with a smile on my face, even when I seem to be greeted with adversity. Nothing seemed to stand in my way either. I was able to accomplish more in that one day than I had been able to in an entire week it seems.
While my day wasn’t perfect, it sure had the feeling that it was!

January 8, 2005 in Daily Tarot Updates, Robin Wood Tarot
If you’ve been following along with my blog, you’ll notice that I post every day (or have since it’s been online) – however, you’ll notice I didn’t update the Robin Wood Sun last night and I didn’t add a daily tarot card today. How come?
Short answer: I was running short on time.
Last night I got to bed somewhere in the wee hours after finishing a couple projects and this morning I woke up to quite a busy day indeed. I did do a daily tarot card :) and will most certainly post on it later.
What’s in store for this evening:
- An update on Robin Wood’s Sun card and how it applied to my day (Friday) Done
- Today’s daily tarot card/synopsis (in the same post) Done
- A review of one of my favorite tarot decks (that’ll be a surprise)
I continue to work on getting this blog whipped into shape and some of the things I’d like to get online are:
- The archive pages, right now, they will become quite long with possibly 60 posts per month. I want to find a way to shorten them and allow people to quickly scan the titles to see if there are any cards or topics that jump out at them to read Done
- I want, of course, to get the About section up and running so people can see an overview of what this blog is about and what I hope to accomplish with it
- I would like to include a small thumbnail picture of the card I’m speaking about. I figure it would help others who may not have the deck to understand where I get my interpretations from.
- I also want to get the link section up and running because I’ve found a lot of wonderful tarot resources over the years and would love to share them. That is not on the priority list, but I assure you, it will get done. If you know of a wonderful, insightful, or just plain interesting tarot resource, please feel free to post the link in the comments section.ything else that you see that can be done to this blog to make it an even better tarot resource, I’m all ears. Commenting and speaking your mind is welcome (as long as it remains on point and respectful).
That’s all for now – see you this evening!

I know that the website Daily Tarot has only been online for a short while, and the goal is to inspire others to learn tarot as well by seeing it first hand. I’d love to know if you are participating in the daily tarot and the methods you use. What tarot deck do you find yourself using the most and why.
Have you had any epiphanies while using the tarot and if instead of doing a single card daily, do you use a spread? If so, which one? I’d certainly love to learn more about you!

January 7, 2005 in General
Again with the late start! It’s not that I wake up late, it’s simply that I’m working from the moment I wake up it seems. But I’ve finally had a moment to sit down and do the daily tarot.
You may have noticed that I’m using the Robin Wood Tarot instead of Nigel Jackson. Before I went to bed last night, I caught a glimpse of the Robin Wood deck and something clicked. I knew that would be my deck for the morning…sometimes you just have to go with the flow. When I woke up this morning, I still had the click.
So, let’s get started.
Tarot Deck: Robin Wood Tarot
Daily Tarot Card: The Sun
My personal interpretation:
It seems that today will be a very important day indeed. I see renewal and rebirth. I see happiness and opportunity in this card. I personally love this card and it’s one of my favorite single cards in any deck that I own. Today is a day of freedom and unbridled joy for me, so I definitely need to live it up. I wouldn’t be very surprised at all if almost everything went my way. The red flag that the baby’s carrying also signifies that this will be a day of “inspired action” as well, that would definitely be promising.
Just looking at this card makes me smile. I am definitely in for a treat today. I will learn to have fun again it seems and in the purest sense. I personally cannot wait!
Interpretation from the book:
Accomplishment, success, material happiness. A good marriage, joy, pleasure. Liberation, freedom, contentment.
As usual, I will be updating on how this card played out in my day and what I learned from.
