Question: Are the Death and Devil cards evil?
Answer: The short answer is no, the Death and Devil cards aren’t evil.
As I mentioned in my earlier series of ‘Tarot How To‘ I explain the importance of listening to how each of the cards make you feel when you start to form you own personal card meanings. The Death and Devil cards, many times, may have an ominous feel to them, but they are not evil.
The tarot cards simply reflect all the spiritual aspects of the human spirit and embodiment. It covers the different areas of our lives and the different areas of our being. Just as there is love and sunshine in each of us, there is also a ‘dark’ side to us as well, but it doesn’t make us evil.
Drawing the Death or the Devil card doesn’t mean that the person will die or be stricken with a curse, however, it may serve as a warning. Remember to let the cards speak to you and tell you the reason why that aspect of their life is showing up.
